Cookie policy

What gets stored in your browser, and why.

Last updated: 10 September 2026. This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on pdfflourish.app. It sits alongside our privacy policy.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Related technologies include local storage, session storage and the browser cache, which also keep data on your device. We describe all of them together here, because from your point of view they work the same way: data stays on your device and can be cleared by you.

Essential storage

The tools themselves do not need cookies. Your browser may cache the site's code and fonts so pages load faster and tools keep working offline, and a tool may briefly use local storage to remember a setting such as your last chosen quality level. This is ordinary functional storage, not tracking, and it never contains your files.

Analytics

If analytics is enabled, a cookie or similar identifier may be used to count visits and understand which tools are useful, typically for up to two years. This data is aggregated, is not used to build advertising profiles, and never includes file names or file contents.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising. When advertising is active, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to deliver ads, limit how often you see the same ad, detect invalid clicks and measure performance. Where required by law, personalised advertising is used only with your consent; without consent you still see ads, but non-personalised ones. Google explains its use of this data in its privacy and terms for partner sites.

Categories at a glance

  • Functional — remembers tool preferences and caches site files. Set by this site. Duration: session to a few months.
  • Analytics — counts page and tool usage in aggregate. Duration: up to 2 years.
  • Advertising — ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement, set by Google and its advertising partners. Duration: varies by vendor, typically months.

We do not use cookies to identify you personally, and no category of cookie ever has access to the documents you process, because those are handled entirely on your device.

Controlling cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — every major browser lets you clear existing cookies, block third-party cookies, or refuse them for a specific site. Blocking cookies will not stop the tools on PDF Flourish from working. You can also:

Where a consent banner applies to your region, you can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser and reloading the page.
