Last updated: 10 September 2026. This policy explains what PDF Flourish does and does not collect when you use the tools on this website, and it applies to every page on pdfflourish.app.

Who we are

PDF Flourish is an independently operated website offering free document and image tools that run inside your web browser. You can contact us at any time at support@pdfflourish.app or through our contact page. For privacy questions, that address reaches the person responsible for data protection on this site.

Your files

Tools on PDF Flourish process your documents and images inside your own web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Files are held in your device's memory while you work and are discarded when you close or reload the page. They are not uploaded to us, not stored by us, not backed up, and not shared with anyone. Because the files never reach us, we cannot read them, recover them, or hand them to a third party.

Two practical consequences: results you do not download are lost when the tab closes, and file size limits depend on your own device memory rather than on any server capacity.

Information we collect

We do not ask for an account, an email address or any personal details to use the tools. Specifically, we do not collect:

• file names, file contents, page counts, or anything derived from your documents;
• names, postal addresses, phone numbers or payment details — there is nothing to pay for;
• precise location data.

What may be processed is limited to the following.

• Technical request data. Our hosting provider processes standard server information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. This is a normal part of serving any website and is retained only briefly for security and reliability purposes.
• Aggregate usage data. Where analytics is enabled we record which pages are viewed and which tools are used, so we know what to improve. This is aggregated and contains nothing about your files.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to reply.

Legal bases (UK/EU visitors)

Serving the site and keeping it secure relies on our legitimate interest in operating a functioning website. Non-essential cookies, including personalised advertising and analytics cookies where they apply, rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through your browser settings or the controls described below.

Cookies and similar technology

The tools themselves do not require cookies to function. Analytics and advertising, when enabled, may set cookies or use similar identifiers. Full details, including how to refuse or delete them, are in our cookie policy.

Advertising

The site is supported by advertising. When an advertising provider such as Google AdSense is active, Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to select, deliver, cap and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted by law and by your choices. Google's own handling of that data is described in its privacy and terms for partner sites.

You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other vendors at optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Advertising never receives your files, because your files never leave your device.

Third parties we rely on

• Hosting and content delivery — to serve the pages and static files of this site.
• Google AdSense — to display advertising, when active.
• Analytics — to count visits in aggregate, when active.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the advertising described above.

Data retention

Files: not retained at all. Server logs: kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then discarded. Aggregate analytics: retained in aggregate form. Emails: kept while the conversation is relevant.

International transfers

Our hosting, advertising and analytics providers operate globally, so the limited technical data described above may be processed outside your country under the safeguards those providers publish, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal data held about you, to object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we deliberately hold almost nothing, most requests can be answered quickly. Write to support@pdfflourish.app and we will respond within one month.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Keeping processing on your device removes the largest risk in document handling: a copy of your file sitting on someone else's server. You remain responsible for the security of your own device and downloads.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page and change the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
