Take better source photos first
- Shoot straight down, with the page filling the frame — perspective cannot be fixed later.
- Use daylight or even indoor light and avoid your own shadow across the page.
- Hold steady: a blurred photo becomes a blurred PDF that a reviewer may reject.
- Check every shot before you close the folder — a missing page is the usual cause of a rejected application.
Page size and orientation
Fitting photos to A4 or Letter produces a document that prints predictably, which is what officials expect. Matching page size to the image keeps the photo edge to edge and is better for artwork or receipts where trimming would lose content.
Why portals insist on a single PDF
A reviewer opening an application wants one file that reads front to back. Eight separate photos mean eight windows, an ambiguous order and a real chance that one gets missed — which is why many upload forms simply reject image files outright.
A single PDF also fixes the page order permanently. Once the document is built, it cannot be re-sorted accidentally by a file browser sorting names alphabetically.
